Since joining Wesbild in 1989, Mr. Ayerst's primary responsibility has been for all land development related activities at the Westwood Plateau in Coquitlam, B.C. This award-winning community now accommodates 15,000 persons in over 4,500 homes on some 1,400 acres of forested mountainside. It provides over 700 acres of open space in the form of parks, playing fields and school grounds as well as preserved natural forest and ravine areas. Two world-class golfing facilities have been constructed and are now operated for the public to enjoy.
In addition, Mr. Ayerst also has responsibilities for the identification, analysis and acquisition of new residential land development opportunities for Wesbild.
Prior to joining Wesbild in 1989, Mr. Ayerst was responsible for master planned community developments located in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Palm Beach County, Florida.
Mr. Ayerst earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts Urban Planning degree in 1973 from Ryerson University in Toronto.
