Since joining Wesbild in 1988 Mr. Laronde's primary responsibilities have been to act as counsel for the Wesbild group of companies, including Future Shop Ltd. and its affiliates, in Canada and the Western United States.

Mr. Laronde is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and previously taught Business Law at Simon Fraser University.

Prior to joining Wesbild, Mr. Laronde worked with several law firms in downtown Vancouver after obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree Cell Biology from UBC, a Bachelor of Arts degree Economics from UBC and two law degrees from the University of Detroit JD and the University of Windsor LLB.
